Samuel L. Baldwin
Samuel Baldwin is a founder and managing member of Applied Environmental Services, LLC (AES). He is a graduate of West Virginia University (BS Soils Science) and East Tennessee State University (MS Environmental Science). Sam worked as an Environmental Field Technician for R.B. Thomas Engineering from 1977-1976. And then he worked in various environmental positions at Westmoreland Coal Company from 1977 to 1995. His last six years at Westmoreland he was corporate Environmental Manager and had overall responsibility for environmental permitting and compliance programs. These programs included air, water, hazardous waste, radiation safety, solid waste, PCB compliance, streams and wetlands, and mine reclamation. Since helping to found Applied Environmental Services in 1995 he has helped clients with water treatment permitting & design, air permitting, spill prevention control plans, Phase I ESA’s, environmental audits, wetland delineation, wetland mitigation, wetland banking, hazardous waste reporting, and client training in various environmental compliance programs. His environmental career spans more than 35 years.

Eric L. Fritz
Eric Fritz is a founder and managing member of Applied Environmental Services, LLC (AES). He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Biology/Botany and MS in Plant Pathology (Environmental Resources). Eric worked as an Environmental Scientist for HRB Singer, Environmental Division from 1975-1979. He then worked in environmental and management positions at Westmoreland Coal Company from 1979 to 1995. His last three years at Westmoreland he was President of Pine Branch Mining a wholly owned subsidiary. Prior to that he was Environmental Manager for Virginia Operations and had responsibility for environmental permitting and compliance programs. These programs included air, water, hazardous waste, PCB compliance, streams and wetlands, and mine reclamation. Since helping to found AES in 1995 he has helped clients with storm water permitting & pollution prevention, vegetation and endangered species surveys, Phase I ESA’s, wetland delineation/mitigation/banking, and client training in various environmental compliance programs. His environmental career spans more than 35 years.
